We were so lucky to be invited into ATU to meet the students of Project WAVE (Working towards Academic and Vocational Equity) to learn all about the programme and their experience of being a student at ATU Donegal.

Students from all over Donegal are working hard to achieve their third level qualification at the college, attending classes with other students and participating in ATU’s clubs and societies. Throughout the course, students learn industry-specific skills along with general employment skills and they also participate in a work experience placement.

The students complete several mandatory modules along with elective modules that are chosen throughout the two-year course:

Mandatory modules:

  • Learning Skills and Personal development

  • Information Communications and Technology

  • Introduction to Physical Activity for Health and Nutrition

  • An Introduction to Equity Diversity and Inclusion

  • Employability Skills

The students also choose Elective Modules in areas such as:

  • Hospitality & Design if they are attending ATU Donegal or

  • Performing Arts, Fine Arts & Engineering Design if they are attending ATU Sligo.

What are the best things about Project WAVE & attending ATU?
